Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
My parents received a text message about a work from home opportunity that simply required them to have a decal added to their car. When they responded they were asked for their address and informed that a check for several thousand dollars would be sent to them. When they received it, they were to deposit it, and contact the car decal company that they would be put in contact with. The check would cover the fee to have the decal placed on their car as well as their initial pay. When they received the check, the looked up the company they would have a decal placed for and found that there were some complaints about it being a fraudulent company. After doing more research and contacting the bank that was on the check, the check was in fact a fraudulent check. If we had not done the research they would have spent thousands of dollars to have a decal placed on their car and lost all their hard earned money.
