In early March 2020, I ordered almost $200 worth of N95 masks to prepare for the Covid 19 outbreak. After not receiving anything for a couple weeks, I tried calling and the voicemail said to email them, which I did. Initially I received a response but all the emails I received were written in a general template because every time I ask for specifics about my orders, it was never addressed. I always got some version of some excuse for either items being shipped from Turkey and that they started sending them out in March 13th – however, it’s now August and I still have not received any masks. The last couple of emails I sent were unanswered and in the midst of a pandemic, all my finances are important. To lose almost $200 when I could use it for other important emergency items, I made the mistake of trusting this business to follow through on their agreement. They took my money but never gave me the items I paid for.

I ordered N95 masks from this company in February 2020 and have not yet to receive them. I got email in April Dennis Rivera (EM General ) stating there was a delay due to COVID19 and they were in the process to set a warehouse in the USA and would start shipping from the USA from 15-19th of March. Once the order is shipped out the ETA will be 3-5 days. I have emailed for an updated and have not gotten a response. There is not phone number or address in the email response. This company is a SCAM! DO NOT PURCHASE ANY ITEMS FROM THEM!!!!

On March 18, 2020, I received an email from the "Management Team" that I would receive a tracking number one my order was shipped. The email also states that shipping time would be 6-8 days after I recieve my tracking number, and that I should not cancel because I may not be able to get a mask due to demand. I never received a tracking number nor any other communicaton from EM General. Secondary contact information is [email protected] and (800) 893-1895. DO NOT BUY!!! On Feb 28 I spent $95 on 4 N95 Masks. I never received them. I knew there was a red flag in March when I emailed them to ask where my order was then received a response from the "CEO". He said they were getting in a new supply from Turkey and orders would be mailed out on March 18. In April, I followed up again and received the exact same response. I have tried calling the number on their site and sending emails, and those go unanswered now. This company took advantage of people simply trying to prepare for an emergency.

This company is an absolute scam and its real owner, a soulless 24 year old kid, is awaiting his wire fraud trial where he faces up to 30 years in prison. Just needed to rant a little, I’m out 20 bucks which is not the end of the world, but some people are out much more – and more than that, to take advantage of people when they’re at their most frightened takes a special kind of depravity. I read the BBB report and he also scammed hospitals and healthcare workers. I hope this kid does some well-deserved time.

Scammed out of $40 On 2/28/2020.
I ordered a “Antiviral Mask” from this fraudulent company and never received my purchase. I actually spoke to a representative by the name of Jamaal, who didn’t even know how to take my complaint down, nor did he know how to proceed with a refund. I’ve emailed, I’ve called, I even tried to get an accurate location on this place. Unfortunately we’ve all been scammed.

I suggest you all file complaints with your state department of consumer affairs. I did, as I was scammed out of $89.85 for 3 masks that never arrived. If you file the complaints, you can be added to the criminal complaint as a victim in the California case and perhaps get restitution.

I would like everyone to see that this company is fraudulent.

After waiting 2 months for face masks I emailed the company saying “I understand that everything is taking much longer and I’m sure you are working hard at getting these masks out to everyone, all I was hoping is to find out if you know about when they will be shipped out?” I got a email back saying they are sick of people like me that are rude and trying to get their money back. I tried to tell them I was not trying to be rude but just trying to find out any updates as to when we would be getting them. Their reply was we are not returning your money. (At this point I had not asked for my money back)They will not give their customers any information. Such a rude company. I know it must be hard when masks are in such high demand but the nasty emails are not right. I would never buy anything from this company again!

[EM General ] Re: Order # 37407 Same experience. I ordered in February 2020 and have not yet received order. If they truly are scammers they may have gotten over on us for now but eventually remember that what goes around comes around.

Darrell –

At 6:28pm on February 27th I ordered 2 N95 masks from emgeneral.com. I received an order confirmation with the order #22654. On March 9th, I received an email stating the company had gotten an oberwhelming response and had placed an order with their manufacturer using the money customers had paid for masks they had not received, and they would not be providing refunds for that reason! The email also stated that masks would be shipping March 15th. On March 18th, I received an email stating they had started shipping March 13th. On March 28th, I still hadn’t received a shipping confirmation, so I emailed their support to inquire about my order. I received an automated response email on March 29th that stated the mask had started shipping March 5-9th. This was the 3rd shipping date they’d given that differed from the original email. I emailed again on April 13th inquiring on the status of my order. I got the exact same automated response, but this time the dates given for shipping were March 15th-19th. I emailed again on April 18th and stated that if I had not received my masks by April 27th, I’d be requesting a refund. This time I received this email response

“Dennis Rivera (EM General )

Apr 20, 04:32 -05

Dear Customer,
We apologize for the inconvenience, but, as has been the case with many other businesses who are selling masks right now, we are experiencing supply line issues. We are working very hard to try and resolve these issues, including finding alternate sources for the products, but, unfortunately, we do not have a time frame yet for these products. Once we can confirm the new shipping dates, we will let everyone know. Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
Kind Regards,
EM General Support Team”

At this point, I realized that they didn’t have any timeframe, nor did they even have a company to supply the masks. I did an internet search and found that several scam reporting sites and the BBB had multiple complaints from other consumers that had ordered in February and March and never received their masks, while also being denied their refunds. On April 20th, I requested a refund for my $69.98. On April 21st, I received the same automated email that I quoted above, so I tried to call. I found 2 phone number listed for them. I called the number listed above multiple times, and no one ever answered the phone. There’s just a voicemail telling you to email them. The second number, which is listed on their website, 1-800-913-8548, was also never answered. I emailed them again today requesting my $69.98, and have not received a reply. Many people seem to have given their money to this company during this pandemic, and it’s disgusting to be scammed when no one can afford it. I have now filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, and the Michigan Attorney General.

I ordered two masks on February 28. (order number 26853) Since that date I’ve tried on 5-6 occasions to check on when the masks would arrive…Speaking to several “customer service” agents did no good. Hi,

I’m sorry this is the first time reaching out to you personally.

I wanted to clear up some communication issues and make sure everyone is on the same page. I first off apologize for not being able to provide the expeditious shipping and fast delivery we’ve done in the past for some of you.
While I acknowledge some of you have received your deliveries on-time, I also acknowledge we have some gaps in performance due to the current climate. I wanted to provide context on a few examples:

We haven’t shipped anything within the last 2-3 business days due to our warehouse also supplying PPE to local communities. Our warehouse is located in Wisconsin, and we are supplying a lot of the Midwest right now.
Some of our customers from about 6-7 days ago haven’t received tracking numbers yet, and this is because of the ramp-up for PPE delivery. This is being remediated today.

Second — we’ve seen inbound logistics delayed slightly as we do not produce locally in Wisconsin. Again, the same reason above as our items are being considered ‘non-essential’, although I know most of you would disagree as you must need masks now — as like me.

I appreciate the trust you’ve placed in us, and I want to assure you that you will receive your items. Our warehouse staff is working tirelessly to ship our items, catalog new inventory, and get the items correctly put to the right customers.

That being said — please allow us a few days of recovery as our team spent most of this week not focusing on our shipments (which may damage our reputation but we felt was necessary).

Again, most orders are being sent out, but delays or partial orders were on purpose. And while we do apologize, we felt it was necessary for the greater good despite our reputation is on the line.

Our CS staff is working double shifts remotely to answer your inquiries, and we apologize for some that we’ve missed. The increased demand, combined with the current climate, isn’t something we were prepared for, but are reacting as best as we can.

We had one customer threaten us with legal action, to which we’ve refunded them and removed them from the community. If this is something you want to do, please respond to this, and I will happily refund you.

This is a trying time for all, and I respect your input, but right now, our staff doesn’t need to be attacked over an email. And, frankly, those aren’t customers I want in our community.

For those willing to stick with us, I do appreciate you, and I thank you for your continued patience.

I do still see people getting their products and I greatly appreciate that. And we are working every day, including weekends to get you the items you ordered, and deserve.

I’m sorry that I didn’t communicate this sooner, and I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

So when should my order ship out? Its been 41 days since I placed my order and paid for it. Just don’t understand why you would take someone’s money if you didn’t have the product.

I am Mike T. (CEO EMG) and personally thanks for reaching out,

I would like to thank for your interest and purchase with EMG and hope you will find a pleasant experience,
Due to unexpected response and HIGH volume of demand of our mask we are facing a little delay in shipping out your order. However, we are making sure to give you a quality experience.
I am giving a brief explanation on different issues and questions you might find helpful:

How many filters come with each mask?

Please note we are not selling filters separately. However, we are making arrangements to list them separately from the coming weeks. I would personally let you know when these filters will be available. We are importing masks from Turkey.

When my order will deliver?
As you know masks are becoming precious products and due to the high global demand for this product, we are in the process to set our warehouse in the USA and we will start shipping from the USA from 15-19th of March. Once your order will be shipped out the ETA will be 3-5 days.
We are importing masks from Turkey. We sincerely apologies for this delay. We are starting shipping from March 18, 2020.
So please put 15-19th March as our shipping estimation time.

How long each mask lasts?
It depends on the quality of the environment. However, our masks are washable, reusable and can be used 10-22 days after each wash.

For how many age it fits?
Our masks are fit to size and can be fit from age group 10 to onward.

I want to make a bulk purchase?
If you want to make a bulk purchase, we are happy on this and have a special discount:
Buy 40+ & Get 30% off with this code: 40N95

Can we cancel your order?
As we have paid for your order to our manufacturer and have made a bulk purchase, so we sincerely apologies, we are unable to cancel your order. Please read out refund policy here:
. Please read our cancellation/refund policy here: https://emgeneral.com/policies/refund-policy

If your issue was not addressed, please reply this email and one of our customer support agents will be in touch with you in a timely manner,

I appreciate your patience and cooperation with us!

Hi there, me again. Here’s the update to my earlier share on this site (see link below)… DO THIS — If you file a report on the BBB website, opening your own case, you will hear from an agent from Homeland Security’s Financial Crimes Division, and help to build the case against these crooks who scammed so many people it’s not even funny.

And take a look at the comments on this YouTube of a company who assesses scam sites and reviewed EM — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t726w9xyusM — and my guess is there are many more victims out there.

Also, contact your creditors who accepted the charge for your purchase(s). MasterCard was wonderful & refunded the amount to my account, as I imagine they heard it more than once about these scammers.

I am just now reading these reviews. Unfortunately, it’s a little too late!
My parents, senior citizens on a fixed income, ordered 2 antiviral N95 masks on March 2. The payment was immediately taken from their account. After waiting a few weeks, my mother called. They told her they were back ordered but are in now and will be getting shipped in the next couple of days. They never did receive them. The total was $69.98. The bank said since it is past 30 days, they can not do anything.
So, this is ok? No! My parents need that money for food and prescriptions!
Reading these reviews tells me they are not alone. And these reviews are fr others who got scammed. How many have not written a review? So EM General takes your money with no intentions of producing a product or a refund. That is criminal. I am not finished with them!

I went to the website from a google search for Fabric face masks. They stated Available and in stock. They took my money out of my bank account right away. I received an email there was a delay once a week passed and the email had a revised timeline as to receiving. The timeline came and went and when I contacted them it was an automated email. Saw their website on March 5, 2020 and I ordered the N95 masks. No confirmation or tracking number. Saw that they would ship out on March 13th. On March 26th, I called and talked with a supposed Customer Service and he told me that it would ship out between March 30-April 3. Never happened. I e-mailed and no response back. I filed a BBB complaint and reported to my bank. I also filed a Federal Trade Commission complaint. Hopefully get money back, but if not, get some justice. Need to report them if you are like me and get them on the radar of the government.

I wish I had checked BBB before ordering 2 masks on 2/29 as I think there was already complaints, so I now add mine. Never received the masks and go the same general emails as replies in other complaints. Don’t buy !

Olivia –

Ordered 3 facemasks on 2/28/20 for 69.98. The took the money and never email confirmation number, tracking info or delivered the product. I called and no answer just a voice mail. Sad and pretty low to scam people during a horrific time. I hope the person behinds this company is arrested and charged accordingly.

Julian –

I ordered a mask on the same day. I did receive a order number and receipt for purchase. I did receive an email that it was going to be shipped on the 19th of last month, I don’t have mask or my money. The shortage is understandable but if you cannot get the product then we need our money back.

Ordered the masks in the beginning of February and still haven’t gotten the masks. Never got a tracking number. Never got a confirmation email. Nothing. I ordered two masks. I’m so furious because I am immune compromised and can’t be outside without a mask.

Please contact me if you know EM Generals Business Address and/or if you’d like to join in legal again against the company. I’m interested in filing for legal action against EM General and wonder if others want to join me in a class action suit. March 1 ordered masks, loop/generic emails/ zero tracking info . The response to me has been same as all the other people here and BBB. I set up a new gmail for this: [email protected]

See this copy/paste of a comment I just placed, number 62 on this thread…

Here’s the earlier posting on this site of my experience —

Everything people in the below reviews are saying is true, the company is a complete SCAM. DO NOT BUY!

Same as everyone above. Never get a response other than a general email saying there is a huge delay due to the virus and they’re starting to ship. I got that one twice now. I have covid19 already so that mask ain’t gonna do me no good now! I called my credit card company a month ago and they issued a temporary credit. Do not buy from this site! Total scam

Ordered N95 3/5/20, never received tracking number, received email saying backed-up orders & being delivered between 3/15 – 3/19, but never received. Wrote again 3/26 & never received response or product. Tried calling & wrote again 4/2 — then I found the BBB complaint page and now this site… Welp, tell you this much (as people are dropping dead from Covid19) there’s a really special place in hell for demons such as this company. This scam move is about as low as it gets. Heathens!

I purchased gas masks for $270. They never sent tracking number, so when I reached out to them, they mentioned that the order was on its way. Then when I reached out to them again, they said all items delayed because of COVID-19. Then two weeks ago, I received an email that the shipment was in from Turkey and they were delivering the package. Since nothing in the last two weeks, the phone number on the email was disconnected. I called the alternate phone number on the credit card, and it was a VM saying send us an email. No one answered. I reported this to my credit card company who is now putting in a dispute. If they don’t send a tracking number or show it was delivered within 90 days (which is wasn’t!), then I will have my money back for good. Call your credit card company. It is totally a scam!

Purchased 2 masks from this vendor. Waited two weeks and then followed up several times with customer service. Never got a personal message about my specific order, only a generic email about shipment delays. When they finally gave the date that products would be shipped, the date past and still no products were delivered. They don’t give refunds claiming the need to purchase the mask upfront.

Devon –

I have had the same experience. Ordered masks 3 weeks ago. Cannot contact them by phone. did get an email that they would begin shipping on March 9. Now March 22, no masks.

Edward –

Ordered 3 n95 masks about 3 weeks ago. Costs was 134.00. When I ordered, my credit card sent me a scam message asking me if I was sure I wanted to order from this company “possible scam” web site. I ordered anyway like an [censored]. Never got them , never will. My wife is pissed off at me, but I was scared at the time. Please dont order. We all got beat

I ordered 3 face mask to protect my family during coronavirus and I never received the face masks or a refund. They have changed their phone number and they have also taken off the order tracking information. They claim on the website that they have started shipping orders out on the 13th of March and I have yet to receive anything regarding my order. Other than a standard email about coronavirus and asking me to purchase more items from the website.

Purchased two N95 masks (re: Coronavirus) from this online store and after multiple attempts to contact the company via phone and email, no one responded. The business phone number is not a valid number, the customer service email is also invalid. They stole my money, and now they have my credit card info so I had to cancel my credit card. The names of the executives on the website are fake, and the photos are stock photos that are available all over the internet. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! Total scam!!

Searched for face masks and this website popped up. I purchased 2 adult N95 masks on Feb 28th for $34.95 each, then got a text I could purchase additional masks at 35% off and I purchased an additional 10 masks. I got two separate tracking orders that say the order is being processed. I sent a complaint via their contact me and did actually receive a response back from "Dennis Rivera" saying due to the HIGH demand there would be a delay in processing. That email response was received on March 4th and I haven’t gotten a response to subsequent emails and the phone number on the website is busy. Very upset with myself for falling for this, hoping to prevent others from making the same mistake.

After some background research, I searched online for N95 face masks and encountered the EM General website. They advertised face masks with changeable N95/N99 filters included replacement filters with each mask. They were initially discounted to $34.99 and I purchased 4 at this price for 4 adults. They advertised multiple colors of this mask and certain colors were shown as "sold out" whereas others were not. After completing the purchase, I received an "order confirmation" with a tracking number; however, no estimated shipping date was provided (which was unsatisfying), only a field which state "your order is being processed". No sooner had I made this purchase, when I was presented with an offer to buy additional masks at a still lower price of $16.25 each if purchased within 5 minutes. (I also immediately received a text from EM General confirming my purchase and that the order was being processed. I initially declined to purchase more masks, but 5 days later, I decided to purchase 3 additional masks anticipating that the U.S. would be grappling with coronavirus for months to come and not knowing how durable these masks were (or if other friends or family might be in need). At this time, we were already in a hotspot area in California so this seemed prudent. I checked back a few times over the past week to see if there was updated information on a shipping date, but never got more information than that "the order was being processed". I also began to notice that they have a banner at the top of (most?) every web page stating "?? Our Inventory is Currently Being Shipped to Our Warehouse & Will Be Processed As Soon As Possible. We Thank You For Your Patience ??". After waiting for 10 days and receiving no further information, I suspected that this may be a scam and have found both several non-credible sites claiming to review whether or not this was in fact legitimate. Then found 2 claims that it was a scam on the ScamPulse.com site. As I reviewed every page on the site, it became clearer to me that this is almost certainly fraudulent! LET THE BUYER BEWARE!

This website claims that they sells masks. They responded to my product question prior to my purchase within one hour. However, after I placed an order, I have received no confirmation nor any response from them despite of my multiple attempt. As I started to get uneasy about this company, I did research more about this vendor. First, I can track my order with my order number (currently being processed) but I can also type in random order number and able to pull out other people’s order information in details. Order going back in beginning of Feb still just being processed. I didn’t see any order that was shipped. Second, when I looked further in online, I found a TMZ article pointing out the same photos of their CEO and COO have been used for other vendors as well. https://www.tmz.com/2020/03/05/coronavirus-con-americans-fleeced-facemasks-fraud… Now I have been convinced that this is a scam. I took action to stop my payment but my critical information are stolen. I have learnt my lesson but this vendor needs to be charged with criminal activity.

Was looking for masks for protection from the coronavirus and this came up. When I first visited the site, there were lots of items to purchase from beauty products to watches to these masks and much more, now a week and a half later, only the mask is available for purchase all other pages come up as not found. The phone number on the site for contact was 616-419-8342, but when call/called it only rings until is a voice message comes on that says to email [email protected], the area code for the number is for Grand Rapids, MI area. Now the number listed on the site to contact is 1-800-913-8548 and is just a busy signal. The initial email I received after placing my order stated that they were getting my order ready to ship and that I would be notified when it has been sent. When I go to the site to track my order it says it is processing. It has stated the same information since the day I placed my order on 2/26/2020. I sent an email on 2/28/2020 and asked if they could give me an estimated shipping or arrival date and have gotten no response. I also noticed that the company logo has differences to it from when I placed my order to now when I see the number is changed and the font is not the same either. No email response, no answer to phone calls, 2 different numbers listed and company log is different all within 2 weeks.

EM General is an online retail store. On their website, they offer N95 masks advertised to protect against airborne illnesses. As an immunocompromised individual, the fear of coronavirus led me to this site where I eventually purchased an N95 protective mask. Their website states a tracking number would be sent in 3-5 days after purchase. After five business days of no tracking number or further information from EM General, I contacted them to ask about the status of my purchase. It’s been two weeks now and I’ve received no response from EM General, no tracking numbers, and no product.

I searched online for N95 face masks and came across this website that sold a reusable face mask, only filters needed replacement, on a 50% discounted price. The original price was $87 CDN. I made a payment and the order was confirmed right away; however, the tracking number was never updated. Three days later, there is no tracking number update, there isnt even a single trace of my package. They send you text messages of promotions for higher discount rates. The website says that the discount for face mask is only "this day" special, when in fact its every day.
