I applied to several jobs via Indeed.com and was contacted by one of the companies I applied with, "Elite Brands of CO". Their message went something along the lines of "We regret to inform you that this position has been filled, but your resume stood you apart and we think you’d be a strong candidate for our associate, please forward your resume to Jennifer Haynes at [email protected]" I did, got a reply, and got hired. They went as far as to ask me what all I knew about real estate terminology (the "woman" who hired me is a real estate attorney..), how they knew I could be trusted with funds, and how hard of a work ethic I had, as they "had their hands in so many things!" and just really needed the extra help. They had a "client" send me a fraudulent check – some "logistics" company in Georgia – which I then deposited into my account and sent money orders from. Got a call from the bank last week letting me know the check was fraud and that I was on the hook for ~$2500. Filed a police report
