They offer to reduce interest rates charged on credit cards, without cost, without disclosing personal security information. The process goes through several people (sales agent, financial consultant, etc). They offer 2 guarantees — that the interest rate will decrease and the time to pay off will decrease. Then they record a commitment to pay a fee if those guarantees are met. They don’t disclose, at this point, that the cards will be closed to further transactions until the balances are paid off. Later in the process, they ask for security information that they promised not to ask for. At that point, if you try to cancel the process, they claim that it can’t be cancelled, and that if you don’t set up the payment of the fee, they will sell the account to a credit collection agency.
