https://usps.easyaddressupdate.com/ was the fake landing page used to lure the victim into using the address for a change of address. Despite not being affiliated with the USPS, the website hid this information in small text at the bottom of the pngage and didn’t even reveal the amount that would be charged until their Terms of Service were read on a separate pngage. The USPS charges $1.05 for change of address, but this website charged $39.95 (according to the victim’s credit card statement). Apparently this sum includes "processing fees" and a "voluntary donation". This voluntary donation was not mentioned in any part of the billing process and the victim only saw this after the fact on a separate terms of service pngage which wasn’t agreed to during the transaction.
