Type of a scam Tech Support

Robert Jacobs, Windows System Technician with East-West Infotech, Job ID 121188, called and said my computer had been getting virus alerts and when these were cleared, my computer stopped working, Cited an FBI warning about an "Aleuron" virus. He gave me my computer id#, showed dates of alerts I received and said he could remove these virus and offered me a "lifetime guarantee" that it would not happen again for $199. I refused and said no. After I hung up, he called back. I tried to restart my computer and could not get it started. When he called again I thought maybe this is legitimate. But once the bank denied pay, he asked me to call the bank and approve it. At this point, I realized it was a scam. I called the bank and was told the charge was sent from Singapore. I cancelled my card. He said my Windows Software security was expired and these viruses could shut my computer down without his clearing out the virus. This morning 1/14, at 7:43 AM they called again. I didn’t answer.
