Type of a scam Investment

This scam as it seems, at first it’s difficult to identify because the information the scammers provide is 50% real. I received a call from a blocked number who asked to speak with me, they had my contact details and the call was regarding a real investment I have in a UK business, they confirmed all details and this was true…to which I continued to listen, the caller identified himself as a solicitor who was contracted by an XYZ business in the US and the situation addressed by him was that my UK investment was further invested in the XYZ business a few years ago and the law firm was contracted by the XYZ business to help all those investors to an exit strategy.

At first, all seemed to be real, but I changed my mind when he sent me an email with an escrow to sell shares worth a huge amount between the XYZ and me, which had no connection with my UK based investment, neither a proper contact address/website or numbers for such a large investment amount.

I received between 3 to 4 calls all from blocked numbers, trying to get me to sign the escrow. The calls stopped as soon as I asked for my shares certificate in the XYZ business.

Be careful as these scammers may have stolen a real database of info and can trick you to believe it’s true. Why wouldn’t you if they have real data… to a certain extent…
