DVV Auto Shippers aka Springfield Shippers

Victim Location 48216

Type of a scam Online Purchase

This was an attempted SCAM. The would-be-victim inquired on Craigslist about a boat for sale at about 1/10th the price. Sounded too good to be true but the "seller" revealed "she" was reminded of her husband’s death and just wanted to sell the boat fast. The fake seller responded from email address – ***g . Google reverse image search revealed that the seller used photos of a boat from a legitimate boat trading website. Our bank said to NEVER PAY ONLINE with a BANK WIRE TRANSFER because scammers get the unrecoverable funds AND once they have our account info they can drain our bank account. An address search for both, the seller and the shipping company, revealed a non-existent address for both. This was confirmed by phone call to the Tax Assessor’s office in Springfield, Missouri.

We phoned the DVV Auto Shipper directly to see the boat. A man with a thick foreign accent said we could not see the boat for at least 6 weeks, by appointment only. A search of cutestat.com revealed that DVV’s pngage is only one week old, the server is located in Los Angeles, California 90064. It’s all fake. Fake Craigslist advertisement, fake seller with a fake email and physical address, fake shipping company with fake invoice and fake website.
