Alex,

Incredible news. I sent you an e-mail and would definitely like to have them (FBI) investigate our scam. I provided an update of our situation in the e-mail and provide our cell number. Also, for everyone to know… we were able to get a Ft. Pierce, FL detective take our case due to the fact that TD Bank where our money was wired was located in Ft. Pierce. Hopefully we are getting close! Alex, thanks again for the update.

This is PTM1969. Checking on everyone who has posted here and lost money to Drives Motor Depot (Dr. Marial Silva). We have filed with every agency we can think of include the BBB. Our bank (Chase) is the only people helping us. Although they are limited to working with TD bank. Just wondering if anyone else has had any traction and if there would be any good in collectively trying to do something?
Please let me know. 6 weeks later this still sucks and we don’t want to give up. You can e-mail me at [email protected]

Shana – Jun 08, 2020

I never went through with the sale but I have plenty of emails from “Dr. Maria Silva” if it helps anyone. Lots of websites had good things to say about Drives Motors Depot. Must have been an huge extensive scam to get all the websites up with good reviews, people who had gone to see vehicles before buying them. I did google earth “their address” and it was a parking garage. Let me know if my emails will help.

Carrie – May 28, 2020

was scamed on May 11–wire transferred 15K to TD Bank–returned wire–wired again and fineally took–awaiting with no boat no one answering phone no one answering emails even after some hot emails written to whomever–was notified by my Bank, yesterday, by the Wells Fargo Wire Fraud Division, to file a wire fraud complaint with your bank–they will pursue–she sounded very positive–if you have not done this please do it at once, we need all the help we can get to pursue these people ASAP !

John,

Very sorry to hear about this. We (on this page) understand and are open to doing whatever it takes to first get our money back and secondly have the people who did this caught. We filed a report with our bank’s fraud department; file with our police department and filed and FBI – “IC3” report. I wish you luck and happy to help in any way. ptm1969

Do not do business with Drivers Motors Depot. They will take your money and not deliver the product you purchased. In my case, it was a boat.

Linda – May 22, 2020

Exact same experience as all of you. We found a 2800 Wellcraft boat on CL. Dealt with Maria Silva. Told to work through DMD. Had a horrific experience trying to by the boat and wire funds. kicking ourselves because we should have know it was a scam several times along the way. But we wired funds last Friday… Boat was to be delivered tomorrow.

We filed a claim with our bank (Chase) fraud department. Filed a police report and plan on filing a claim with the FBI. Not sure if it will do any good but I can’t believe this elaborate of a scam can’t be tracked down.

We’re in Houston, Tx. Open to hearing any ideas of how collectively we can try to catch them and reclaim our money. So embarrassed and pissed off! Sorry this happen to ya’ll as well.

Bobby,

We will file with both BBB’s. We are happy to assist in any way. Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you would like to discuss. Keep us posted. We are still working through our bank but open to any avenue to bring this to a resolve.

Thanks,

PTM

Thanks for the update. We will file with the Texas AG and call the Florida AG because I imagine multiple people filing would help.

We are all in to do what we can to get these people. By the way… we actually found the boat we thought we were buying advertised on a completely separate website with different contact name and number. https://boats-from-usa.com/wellcraft/wellcraft-2800-martinique-36474

I also have pics of the boat on the DMD site as well. Please keep us posted.

Thanks,.

I spoke with an attorney in WA state. He said we need to confirm that the business entity is still in business so we have “someone” to officially sue/file legal action against. I’ve filed the FBI Internet fraud form along with complaints to the WA Attorney General and the FL Attorney General. The lawyer I spoke with also suggested contacting the Miami County Sheriff and filing complaints with them. Not sure how we can go about tracking down whether or not this company is in business still or how to identify a person/entity to take legal action against. Certainly open to suggestions from anyone else.

Robert – May 21, 2020

drivesmotors.com website has been taken down

Seth – May 21, 2020

Who is up for getting a lawyer all together? So far, I’m not getting anywhere with law enforcement, and I firmly believe the state of Florida and the Bank of America have some liability here.

If anyone wants, we can start a GroupMe text group. At this point, I don’t trust online social media or anything else online as a means of communication about this.

Ryan – May 23, 2020

My email is [email protected] Would love to get an attorney and bring a group lawsuit against these people.

Neil – May 22, 2020

I am in for getting a lawyer together. my e-mail is [email protected]

We need to get our money back!

Ernest – May 22, 2020

I am totally in! I had the exact same situation happen. Found boat on CL. Emailed back and forth with Dr. Maria. Thoroughly (so, I thought) researched the company and everything seemed legit. Even called Wells Fargo to validate the account number was accurate, associated with the right company, and that they hadn’t had any issues with the company. The boat was supposed to arrive on 05/15/2020. On 05/19/2020 got the email indicating the boat was delayed due to an accident and is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Guessing it’s not going to show based on all these posts. Sounds like we were all scammed with the same boat. The website has gone down and haven’t been able to get in touch with anyone. I have screen shots of everything from the website before it went down along with live chat transcripts of the conversations regarding the boat. Hopefully we can get an attorney, track these crooks down, and get our money back.

Just curious what state everyone is in? I’m in WA state.

Peter – May 20, 2020

Same here! Total SCAM! My husband found a boat on CL and he inquired. Dr Maria Silva replied with info. Wired the money on Friday, 05/08 and boat was to be delivered by Monday, 05/18. Welp, 05/18 came and went. No boat, no call.
On Tuesday, 05/19 we got a poorly written email saying delivery of the item was delayed due to an accident and now the delivery date is this Friday, 05/22. The delivery clock on the website was even updated, LOL! Quite elaborate. I have tried at least 74 times to call them at 844-939-2488 but after 8 min 30 seconds of hearing the British dude and some lady on a recording, the line hangs up. Emailed several times to [email protected] but no replies. Called “Dave” at 239-628-3680 (the guy my hubby spoke with initially that claimed to work at Drives Motors Depot) multiple times but now there is no answer and no way to leave a vmail. We have filed a report with the FBI but not sure how much can be done at this point. We will not give up though. We will continue to try and find the AHoles!

Janelle – May 22, 2020

What state are you in? Is there an FBI report number we can add to? I had the EXACT same situation happen. Dealt with the Dr Maria Silva. Wired the money. Delivery supposedly delayed due to accident. Unable to reach anyone now by phone. Website taken down. Etc. I’d be happy to file a report as well. Maybe with enough of us filing, they’ll be able to take action.

Cynthia – May 22, 2020

Alvaro, we have not received any info yet. I would file just to be on the safe side. And we also just realized that the site has been taken down.

Gregory – May 20, 2020

Bad people! What feedback did you receive from FBI? Do you think that I need to report it to FBI?

Thanks

Russell – May 20, 2020

Same scam. I wired transferred 22T for a boat that never was delivered. No answers, no news. Please, I am in for all the information required in order to take our bad experience to the media.

Randi – May 20, 2020

I am contacting State Police. Are you willing to chat?

Julian – May 19, 2020

I was scammed by a company claiming to be called Drives Motors Depot (drivesmotors.com). I inquired on a Craigslist posting on a boat and got a response from a “Dr. Maria Silva” supposedly from Jacksonville, FL. After some negotiations and looking into Drives Motors Depot what I though was thoroughly, I wired transferred a large sum of $ to the account they directed me to on the Invoice. Now after 2 weeks, I have not gotten delivery (of course because the boat never existed), and I can’t get a response from the “company” on the phone, email or via online chat. It’s an obvious and very elaborate scam. I’m open to banding together with anyone willing to pursue this through the media or other means as law enforcement has been a waste of time so far.

Latoya – May 20, 2020

Hi Alejandro, I am available if you can call me to share my experience.

We were scanned out of 15,000 for a boat not delivered. Do not call, email. Same thing happened to us a Dr. was selling the boat. Wanted money transferred and we did – gave a date for boat to be delivered and never received. Now we are put on hold trying to call but after being on hold for 10 minutes, they hang up.

Miranda – May 22, 2020

I was scammed for the EXACT same thing! I’m happy to join into a law suit with others if there is a way to get one organized and started!

Cara – May 20, 2020

Are you willing to chat. I am going through the same thing!

Jennifer – May 19, 2020

Same thing for me. It was a boat listed on CL. Seller claimed to be “Dr. Maria Silva”. Like and [censored] and because the Drives Motors Depot site and all seemed so legitimate, I wire transfered over $30k. Now, no boat. No answer. And no help from law enforcement so far. We may could all band together to take our story to the media. That might get some attention on it finally.

Katherine – May 16, 2020

This exact same thing happened to me! STAY AWAY!
Drives Motors Dept is a complete scam. Let me guess, you found the pic of the item you want online. The seller was a Doctor. But they had the product you want based on consignment at a Drives Motors lot. You have to complete your transaction with Drives Motors, but all of the particulars about the vehicle (boat in my case) come from the owner of the boat. Then you must wire funds.

Luckily we got the funds reversed before we could get taken advantage of. But this is a compete scam. They claimed they didn’t get the first deposit and I needed to re-send them another wire. Then after digging further, the addresses did not match up on the website with real locations. I asked my contact to take a pic of his business card and email it to me, and that never happened. Finally, once I called them out on the scam, the phone number I had went to “unavailable” and “temporarily out of service”.

Jessie – May 22, 2020

Yup! I had the same thing happen! But unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get my money returned.
