Type of a scam Online Purchase
THEY ARE A SCAM! PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I placed an order for 2 dresses on 1/9/2020, totally $25.94 & I paid thru my Paypal accout. On 1/13/20 I received an e-mail confirmation from [email protected] stating order was received & being processed, they took the payment. On 1/23/20 I received the order with a note stating that "one of the dress was out of stock & they tried to reach out to me, but were not able to so they would be crediting my Paypal". I never received a missed call, voice mail or e-mail from them stating they tried to reach me. I checked my Paypal & there was no credit started from them. Also – the 2nd dress I did receive as AWFUL. Nothing like the picture. The next day I e-mailed them because they have NO PHONE #. I stated that 1) there was no refund from them, 2) the dress I did receive was AWFUL & nothing like the picture & 3) Had I KNOWN one of the items was not available I would have cancelled my entire order.
As I did not hear back from them, I reached out again. SILENCE. So I contacted Paypal & opened a dispute a little before Feb 1st. They immediately contacted me from another e-mail – [email protected] & he stated that he tried to refund me thru Paypal but was not allowed to do so because I had to close the dispute. I found it odd that he would be e-mailing me again when Paypal started a conversation thread for us. I replied and told him to reply to the Paypal thread. After several back & forth e-mails he finally responded on the thread that he would reimburse me the FULL amount, not just the missing dress.
CAUTION: When you have an open dispute w PAYPAL do not ever cancel it. That was my mistake. As I had e-mail proof PLUS the conversation thread with Paypal where he stated he would reimburse me the FULL amount, I cancelled the dispute. As soon as I cancelled the dispute there was complete SILENCE from "David". I kept e-mailing, NOTHING. I tried to re-open the dispute but could not.
I reached out via phone to Paypal – the person I dealt with was super kind. She explained that scammers like Dresshead get you to cancel the dispute so that then they disappear. She said NEVER to do that again, call Paypal directly. Anyone who you pay & then you open a dispute can very well refund you your money without you cancelling the dispute. They want you to cancel because they know you can’t re-open it!! I was very thankful that Paypal refund me my full amount due to the fact that I have been with them for over 10 yrs & never had an issue escalate this far.
I did reach out to DressHead on my own again to insult them. I was very upset that they are out there doing this to more than 1 person. I was only $25.94, others could be hundreds! David did reply – I guess he felt a little something something. He stated he would seriously refund me $10. He did within a few days. But that’s not the point. The point here is that they are scammers. I threatened to seriously post anywhere I could my story. I even tried to review the products but I am not allowed to do so. I can’t review anything on their page. I argued with him that I was promised a full refund. There’s proof & nothing. Please DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
