Type of a scam Employment
Was contacted via text about employment that my resume was pulled via **. I was given ** ID to contact HR to conduct interview via Skype, but turned out to be Skype message only. Was hired at $49.87 an hour and would work from house.
Was told I was hired by legitimate company out of ** that was expanding to the U.S. and would work from home until offices are built. I was told company would purchase equipment for me and would be sent a check from corporate to purchase equipment.
I was ** a check overnight from an address in ** with a cashier’s check from a ** in ** with a letter from the Senior Accounting Officer, with no letterhead from the company, to deposit the check via atm and photocopy a copy of the receipt back to them.
I took the check to my bank and had them verify it was fake. The person who interviewed me was **.
