Type of a scam Employment
The scam tries to offer employment with a fake staff member of your university’s disabilities office, but uses the name Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) which may or may not match with the disabilities office of the student’s university being targeted (each university’s department has a different name so it may match in some cases – it didn’t in mine). It claims to do simple emailing/mailing work for 2 hours for 3 times a week. They’ll want you to buy check paper to print off checks they send by email. They also ask for your name, number, alternate email (not a university issued email), your address, and an ID (type not specified). This was sent in an email to multiple other people.
