Type of a scam Rental
I was looking at apt & condo rentals and sent an email to see if the house at 22932 Covello St, West Hills, CA 91307 was still available for rent. The scammer responded with the attached email. We traded emails and they said i qualified as a renter. We traded more emails and text messages. I signed a rental agreement and deposited cashiers check into the owners attorneys account a security deposit & 2 months rent. When I set up an appt to have cable service installed, I was advised my order was cancelled as service was already started by another tenant and the cable company confirmed with the wife of the person I was dealing with the new tenant name. I asked for my money to be returned but the scammer keeps asking for more time to come up with the money.
