Type of a scam Online Purchase
Designated Pets Home http://designatedpetshome.com/ Website offers German Shepherds to be purchased online but it became very obvious "Matt Roy" was looking to take my money and not deliver. Some bullet points about my experience:
-Looked for full payment of $750 ($650 for dog and $100 delivery) before receiving dog
-$100 for delivery of dog is WAY too cheap (flight for dog from Columbus, OH to Milwaukee, WI plus home delivery from airport, which is 1 hour away)
-Story of what his organization does changed from website (help place dogs for breeders) to phone call (he is a breeder himself)
-Would not take credit cards…only Walmart Money transfer or Bitcoin
-Said he is in Columbus, OH but website has a weird IN address on it (listed above); website was registered by a known fraudulent business in AR (Domains By Proxy, LLC)
-When I asked if I could visit the dog in person, he would not give me his address until I paid $300
-Application process was way too easy…no other kennel or breeder was so simple (a few questions in an email)
-Everything was rushed…just trying to get my money in his hands as quickly as possible; replied to emails and texts within minutes without any due diligence
-Everything was doable…next day delivery, at home delivery; even knew he could get the dog on a flight the very next day without looking into it
-Website was just launched in December, 2017
-Sent a video of the dog we were interested in an email but it seemed like a different dog from the picture on the website
These were the major red flags. There is more but I’m trying to keep this as concise as possible.
