These people contacted me through a local number. They somehow was able to get into the Department of Education Department and change my FSA ID password and knew what college I attended, when I attended it, and how much my student loan is totaled. At the end, they wanted my credit/debit card number to start the payment plan. I asked if they could send a bill and they said no. I asked if I could call back and they said no. They then told me they couldn’t help me and hung up.

Received a letter from the Department of Education about reducing my student loan. I called the number they provided and spoke to Alisha she informed me that they could have me enroll in the Student Loan Assistant Program or the FLAP program, she asked me to go into my student loan account and change my information and password, I gave her my social security number. I called the Department of Education who has never heard of FLAP and told me it was a scam.

I get a call from this phone number at least once a week with the following automated message.

"This message is from the Department of Education in regards to Donald Trump becoming president, all programs for student loan forgiveness will be stopped immediately as soon as he takes office in January. In order for you to qualify you must apply within the next 24 hours or you will not be able to have your student loan payment reduced. Please contact us at 888-307-0680. The number again is 888-307-0680. Once again, you must get involved within the next 24 hours. Thank you…"

I call back and ask to be removed from their list from a blocked number, they tell me they’ll remove me and hang up.

I’ve called from a blocked number and questioned if they are the Department of Education, then I’m told no. They are scamming people to consolidate student loans. Which, by the way, I’ve already done.
