I can confirm this is a scam, as i was approached the same way and upon inspecting the information, it was clear some things were not truthfull and well open for plausible scam. They do not hide their location coming from Nigeria, I was able to track some social media profile from one of the scammers confirming the location. The scheme is pretty clear is focused on the things that needs to be paid for the position.

Type of a scam Employment

Submitted resume via indeed.com for a photographer position. Was contacted via email on 5/7/20 to tell me I was on the short-list for the position. Was told to download an app named Telegram for an interview. The interview was all texts. The original description posted detailed the position as a 3-6 month contract. During the texterview I was told it would be a permanent employment position. I was told I would receive a bundle of equipment and software from private vendors and they would schedule a time to have their team come and set up a home office.

I was to go ahead and purchase an iPhone 11 pro and an iPad pro and they would reimburse me. They did not ask any questions pertaining to my photography work, nor did they ask to see a portfolio. I went through the motions with a "Josh Lopez" and a "Judy Moore", but I had an uneasy feeling. I was asked to send a photo of my license, which I sent via email to the only address available ([email protected]). I wish I had not. I was emailed a Job Offer Letter outlining the points already discussed in the text. I signed and returned. I was "hired". I kept going back to their website (deejewelsornaments.com) and thought that there should be more content for a large company that makes their money from visual arts. I kept trying to find an internet presence that would substantiate their claims. "Josh" said they had worked on a campaign with Coca Cola in Nigeria. I found a link on their website (#leggonaija) and found the same video clip on youtube, but no mention of Dee Jewels Ornaments having anything to do with it.

I went to google maps and did a street view of 2411 Montopolis Drive, Austin, TX 78741. It was a trashy house that did not look like a place for a business that would come through with what they were offering. Further investigation revealed that the house is currently for sale and listed on Zillow. This company posts jobs for various positions on indeed, ihire, ziprecruiter, and careerbuilder. They have past job postings in Washington, Tennessee and Texas. I could not find them on the Better Business Bureau site, at all. They are trying to get me to receive money to give to a private vendor for over $10,000. It was when I looked up some of the software they were pushing that my suspicions were validated. When I looked up MYOB Business Essentials Software 2017 a great number of postings came up warning about scams.
