Type of a scam Debt Collections
Debt collector called and stated he was collecting for HSBC. I called HSBC and they said i did not have an outstanding account with them . When i told the debt collector that i do not remember this account and that HSBC said it was closed. He became aggressive and began to site my personal information. He had the last four digits of my SS number, he knew the type of cars that i had purchased as well. He said he would call my place of work and threatened to have me served through the peoria county clerks office. He gave me "their" account number for my debt but wouldn’t give me anymore information on the debt from HSBC.
