Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Someone reached out to my fitness business inquiring about teaching a choreographed dance for a bridal party. We scheduled dates, times, and had been in communication for over 10 days trying to set up an event. There were a few red flags along the way when in the initial email from a person said he couldn’t talk over the phone because of a medical condition. After discussing a rate that was acceptable to him, he said that he would have a driver bring the bridal party to our studio but the driver was with a company that didn’t take credit cards. He wanted us to over charge his credit card to include not only our fee but also the drivers fee and we would settle the difference with him later by showing him a bank deposit slip. He asked which business we banked with and at this point, I knew I would not be proceeding in an agreement with him.

I did a search online and saw a small handful of very similar stories, some of whom were scammed out of money and others who knew not to get involved.
