Type of a scam Romance
My father was befriended on a dating web site. After a few weeks apparently she needed help getting gold into the country. I know, its so obviously a scam, but my dad believed her and developed feelings for this person over these few weeks. Long story short, this person gave this web address for him to look into claims made by the woman on an inheritance scheme. At first he fell for it, he typed in the web address and looked legit. But I made him give me the info and quickly knew it was not. The name of the lawyer and address are real but the website is fake and telephone number is fake. I researched the attorney through the Bar Association and verified he was licensed and matched the address but the phone number was different. I called the legit office and gave them the web address to investigate. The message when I called the phone number is so obviously not a repeatable business.
