Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief
I was set up with an agent at this company through a mortgage company. The person at the mortgage company is a friend of a friend, so i thought i could trust the company they were sending me to. CMC called me and told me they would help me repair my credit and get rid of anything counting against me on my credit report. I was told to pay 3 payments in a total of $699 to start the program. I started paying off the program and they “began helping me”. When i began the program, my credit was around a 590. Prior to beginning the program with them, i paid off one of my credit cards debts. When i started with them, they told me my discover card account was taken “off my credit”. A few weeks later i got a letter about a garnishment to the court for the discover account, this was after i paid for CMCs program. I contacted them and asked why i was receiving this letter if it was taken care of. I never got a straight answer. So long story short, my employer paid the garnishment in full and i pay them back each pay cycle, so CMC did not help me at all. Instead they took my money and did nothing for me. As i mentioned above my credit score was a 590. As of today it is a 517. I only began this process to try to get a mortgage. Now i am stuck still trying to repair my credit and have $700 to a company that did not even help me.
