Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Selling a car on Craigslist and someone reached out to me by text from 315-226-7880 first saying they will pay the full price$900 by certified bank check. Then [email protected] contact me by email asking me not to use the CL reply mail provided by craigslist. Should have known then. LOL! Then Oscar Davis e-mailed me from [email protected] e-mailed me with the former e-mail [email protected] e-mail attached. He apologized for the late response. He wanted to buy the car sight unseen. (REALLY???) He said he was ready to make an instant purchase an his mode of payment would be a Certified Bank Check via Fedex overnight delivery. Once I cash the check, he would arrange to have the car picked up. He was hoping to have it before his wedding anniversary which comes in a week. SERIOUSLY???
It appears that this is a ring of scammers working together because they cannot keep their facts straight. Please guys, don’t be in a hurry to sell anything to out of owners or sight unseen. These guys are good. Stay local, cash only and never sell to someone sight unseen.
