Type of a scam Debt Collections
Received a call stating that I owed money on an old payday loan. I have taken out these loans in the past but have paid them back (some late but still paid back). I was told that if I did not make an arrangement to pay this back I could take my chances in court that they would "serve me". I ended up calling back and giving them my info as they had a lot of personal info on me from an old address in another state (where I actually took out the loans) to the bank I used to do business with to the last 4 digits of my social security number. I gave them my debit card info and arranged to make four payments of $200 each for a total of $800. I am going to withdraw all the money that will be direct deposited on that card on April 1st so they cannot get any money and then cancel that card. I should of know this was a scam and that they were using scare tactics. I am also reporting this to the FTC. I also received an email invoice which I will upload below.
