Type of a scam Employment
I was contacted about a part-time job from this company. I was weary because no much information was given, but I still gave this company my name, address, and telephone number. I assumed I would be contacted and I could ask questions about the position and my responbilities. A few weeks later I got a text message from my “supervisor” and they told me that I was being sent work I needed to complete and a $300 check. I told this person multiple times I never agreed to take this job. I even “quit” even though I was never hired. They told me that I had to complete this work and I was going to be kicked out of college if I didn’t. I was also told they were going to take legal action. After I threatened to report the company for being a scam I was told I didn’t need to do the work anymore but they still wanted me to deposit the check. I tried calling my supervisor multiple time but they refused to answer their phone and only replied through text.
