See attachment of envelope and check. I called bank in HI and customer service said check was a scam. For you to investigate: if you want the papers, I can send. This was supposedly a Walmart shop, and I’m still being contacted by text from initiator : Phone: 17327075127–Mr. Chris Nicholson from Consumer Delight Evaluations. email: [email protected]

Type of a scam Nigerian/Foreign Money Exchange

I took an on-line survey that I thought was an application for a job to be a secret consumer, visiting stores to evaluate customer service. Two days later, after only receiving a congratulatory “you’re hired” email, a cashiers check for $2,450 arrived Priority Mail, drawn on a Kansas credit union. A torn typewritten piece of paper with the check advised me to email a new address at “[email protected]” before cashing, which I did not do. It felt like a scam, so I investigated and discovered they are based in Nigeria, a known foreign money exchange. I google-earthed the address to see where the check arrived from. It’s a large apartment complex near downtown Chicago.

I sent a message to the first email address saying I did not wish to participate and had ripped up the check. They did not respond.
