They have twice now sent unsolicited credit cards via USPS, stating "here is your new Connector Capital Preferred Card" and "Activate Your Card Now" with available credit of $***. Both times this comes in the name of one of our employees with our former business name under the individual’s name. The fine print on the back states "This is not an offer of credit. This invitation for business credit is based on . . .your business’s credit report . . ." It also says that to apply for this (not activate, as the front side says) they must, among other things, collect further financial information about the business "which may include, but is not limited to, verifying banking and trade relationships and obtaining credit reports."

This company sent an unsolicited credit card to our church. It showed an old employee’s name and their department, with a $*** credit limit and had a "call now to activate" sticker. I have never had any credit card with such a high limit. I am highly suspicious of a credit card that was not applied for with a high limit. It had a legit looking sticker to activate the card, but I did not call or go online to do so. I am concerned about what info the company may have.

Donna –

Victim Location 95370

Type of a scam Credit Cards

Received unsolicited "credit card" with my name and business name embossed on the card with what appears to be a complete credit card number. Said I have been a member since 2/18. (I’ve never heard of them before.) Curiously, this card also is valid only through 3/18. Shows 0.00% interest rate in BIG print. I could’t even read the tiny print that said that was for 90 days. (My son with better vision caught that.) Nothing about this seems even remotely legitimate. Besides, I could never qualify for a credit limit like that. Buyer Beware!!!

A quick internet search and call to LifeLock confirmed that this is a common scam to try to get individuals to sign up for a card with a very high balance, which is not good for your credit score. This company has been it at for years, and has changed names x3. Lifelock advised is handling this as identity theft and advised a freeze on my credit until it is sorted out.

We have received two credit cards we did not request from this company. The first had a credit limit of $*** the second had a credit limit of $***. I researched this on the internet. Supposedly this company has an "F" rating. It said this is a fake credit card designed to lure unsuspecting consumers and business owners to call an 800 number listed on the card or go to the company websiste to "activate" the card by providing more personal and financial information. The article I read states the company started out as IMCA Capital but has changed its name three times in two years from IMCA Capital to Integrate Capital to Connector Capital and finally to Notable Capital. In one year, the ScamPulse.com has received 38 complaints related to advertising issues.

at www.bbb.org/northern-alabama/news I was advised to do the following if you receive this credit card:

1. Cut the card up and shred all printed materials

2. File a compaint with ScamPulse.com and the FTC

3. Monitor your credit cards and credit report to watch for signs of identity theft.

4. If you see signs of fraudulent activity on your account, contact the ScamPulse.com for step by step information on how to protect your identity or go to IdTheft.gov for additional resources

Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

I received a letter addressed to a property that we hadn’t managed in over a year. It was a letter that looked like a credit card activation, with an actual plastic card starting with ‘5’, but bore no MC logo. I called the 844 number, and explained that the card was addressed to the wrong company, but that the property did exist. They then began to pry into the details of my company, asking for the name of the president, and, after looking up our organization while still on the phone, the representative said he would be calling our president directly, even after I told them we were not interested, and that that under the CFPB and TILA guidelines, such solicitations were criminal.

Type of a scam Credit Cards

I received a Connector Capital credit card addressed to my deceased mother at the business she owned. I called to cancel the card and was told the account would be closed. I went to Connector Capitol’s website to get an address to send a letter to make sure the account would be closed. Upon asking for an address I was asked what it was in reference to before they could give me an address. I advised them that I was executrix for my mother’s estate and that I wanted to have a letter on file that the account should be closed. The gentlemen told me it was closed. After talking to my husband he indicated that it might be a scam. So I looked up ScamPulse.com and found them rated as an "F". Therefore, I am filling this information in order to investigative this company for fraudulent practices of sending out unsolicited credit cards.

I received a credit card in the mail with the business owner’s name stamped on it. It looked like an official credit card activation letter with the credit card number and name, with a $*** limit ready to go. When I queried the owner about it, he had no idea of applying for any credit card in the recent past. I looked up the Connector Capital company online and immediately saw they had an "F" rating by the BBB. I also learned it is illegal to issue unsolicited credit cards to anyone. Very disturbing to receive this very misleading piece of mail. On the back of the card it does read: This card is intended to serve as an invitation to apply for business credit. That is in the very small print on the back of the card which is stuck to the paper, and no where else on the letter does it say that, just talks about activation of your new credit card.

An unsolicited letter came with a credit card attached, complete with a credit card number embossed, in our business name and my husband’s name. It says we have $*** available credit. There is no chip/ visa/ mastercard logo. Says he’s been a member since 1/18 and today is 2/18. The card sticker says to call 855 602 8090 to activate.

We did not call the number to activate. We cut up the card and threw it away. We wanted to notify you that this scam is going on. It would be very easy to think this is a legitimate card as we have a capital one credit card and this one is Connector Capital.

Received an actual card with a large credit limit (over $***) in the mail from Connector Capital for an individual that is not associated with the location on the card. The card also contained a company’s name that has not been in operation since in 2012; no longer exists. The card looks very legit; however, it does not have a signature line or security code on the back. Destroy the card!!!

Did a search on Google which listed this as a scam that was reported to the ScamPulse.com in Alabama in April 2017. After finding this out, the number was called on the document and the call went right to "hold" music. When the person, "Kevin", answered the call he did not state anything about being Connector Capital; had to ask if he was with the company. Informed "Kevin" to remove name & company from processing. He confirmed this was done.

This incident was reported to help prevent damage to the credit of the unknown individual’s name on the card.

This credit card with an available credit of $*** is geared towards business owners. CALL NOW TO ACTIVATE. It does not have a VISA/MC/AMEX logo on it. When you read the the fine print on the back the red flags are there. It starts with "This is not an offer of credit. This invitation to apply for business credit is based on information contained in your business’s credit report…." Bottom line, they are stating that they need verification of your identity, verify financial information, "This may include, but is not limited, to verifying banking and trade relationships and obtaining credit reports." They end with "Connector Capital Fraud Protection Program protects the identity and the owner of this business." All the ingredients needed for identity theft. Stay away.

The only problem is, I never applied for a credit card. Also, there was no sign of a major credit card logo anywhere (visa, Mastercard etc.). I did not call the number – who knows what sensitive information they would try to glean.

These scammers sent our business a card (without any Visa, MasterCard or anything else logo) with credit card number that starts with 4 (for Visa cards). Check the photos, which I have attached. Sorry for the photos being upside down. It says member since 12/17 but the Valid thru is 2/18 (two months only). The sticker on the card has only phone number for activation only. I called from a phone which is not affiliated with our business. The wasn’t any "Thank you for calling Whatever name company". It sounded like a guy was scrambling the name and didn’t really introduce himself or the company that he’s working for.

If you will decide to call them or any suspected spammer, I will advise to call either from your fax machine or from any type of magic jack phone number which is Not affiliated with your name. Because you don’t want them to activate your card-since the only number ever provided is for activation only. If you do get something in the mail that looks fishy, always take pictures and save the envelope too. I hope that this company, owners and all of their staff will get their part of karma in the federal prison.

A bulk mail envelope was sent to my name at a company where I haven’t worked for 2½ years. The letter inside said, "Activate Your Card Now" and "Here is your new Connector Capital Preferred Card," and there was a card attached which looked like a credit card. I received this in mid-January, 2018, and the card expiration date was 01/2018. This was completely unsolicited. Although the front of the letter says, "Here is your new card," the back of the letter says, "This is not an offer of credit. This invitation to apply for business credit is based on information contained in your business’s credit report…." The letter said to call or go to the website to activate the account for a $90,000 line of credit! I immediately shredded the card and am about to shred the letter, as well.

I received mail that had a credit card with my name and company on it. It has a phone number and email to "activate the card now." When I called, the guy (who sketchily called himself "Ben P") asked for information which I did not give. He gave me a phone number that was disconnected when I called.

The guy on the phone was very suspicious, unprofessional, and acted like he had no idea what was going on and kept asking me questions.

Received a credit card through the mail in the name of our previous Office Manager and old company name. When I called to inquire who requested the card, Joel (the person who answered the phone) asked if I was the owner of the company. I told him "no" and explained I am the Office Manager. He proceeded to tell me the card is intended for the "Owner" of the business and asked if the owner was available. I explained the owner was not available and that the card was issued in our old business name and in the name of an employee who no longer works at our office. Joel then proceeded to hang up on me.

I was very suspicious of the call and after some research on the internet confirmed my suspicions that it was a fraud.

An ex whom I haven’t lived with in years said what looked very important mail came for me. It was mailed to a 2+ year old address, addressed to me, and my older company name. A company that isn’t actively being run right now so I definitely didn’t go opening a 90k credit line with this company. Its stated all I needed to do was to activate & use, a real credit card with my name & company name on it. It also showed I just got it, saying I am a member from 11/17 (last month). Red flags went up for me especially since I’m not doing much for that company. The card is going to be destroyed and I will NOT be using this card. Heads up to anyone else.

We received a card that resembled very closely to a credit card. The name of the person did not match with our records but did contain our business information. We called the number to ask questions. The people were extremely rude and stated they do not have supervisors. Every number they gave us, sent us right back to the same people. The stated they worked on behalf of Dun and Bradstreet initially. We called Dun and Bradstreet to let them know they are using their name to appear legitimate. I have been waiting for a name of a supervisor. The representatives will not give any contact information and would not release their full names. They also did not give any business information.

The letter has two businesses on it. Connector Capital and Notable Capital.

These people need to be stopped. My fear is what information do they have on our business? Especially with all the fraud going around these days.

Our company received a credit card via regular USPS letter from Connector Capital. The card showed the name of the former owner, who retired 5 years ago with the company name printed below his. It was a real credit card with a "Call Now to Activate" sticker on the physical card. Available Credit: $250,000 Balance $0 Expiration Date 01/2018 (next month) Magnetic strip on back however no CVV number. Also no emblem for VISA, MCard or AMEX on card or paperwork. Account date of 30 days prior to receiving it. Since we are a privately held, small company with approximately 20 employees, this was of great concern. We googled and found the "scam" warnings on the BBB.org and immediately shredded the card and filed a complaint. Oh, and in very, very small print on the back it said "This card is intended to serve as an invitation to apply for business cards". What a horrible tactic!

I called back and spoke with Kenny who said he was with Currency. I told him what we received and he stated that Connector Capital was an affiliate of their company and asked for the 16 digit # on the card. I gave him the # and he stated he saw that I was from (named the company) and that the name on the card was (gave me the doctors name). I explained to him again that the physician listed was not affiliated other than being an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR and that he was deceased. This didn’t seem to register with Kenny. He asked if I was the business owner and I told him no and he said then perhaps the business owner should be the one taking care of this. I explained that she asked me to handle this on her behalf. He stated it was a very good line of credit and she needed to make the decision as to whether or not she wanted to have access to it. I asked him again why this physician was sent a CC with our name on it and he said you cannot just call and activate the card, you have to verify who you are, the company, etc. I asked him how in the world he would have access to that information if we never have applied for a card. He stated that they would ask for verification of identity that only the owner of the company would know. I told him I know everything about this business, so you are saying that as long as I can answer those questions I can open up a line of credit?? He got quiet – I though he hung up. I asked politely that he remove us from his list to which he rudely replied whatever and hung up.

Type of a scam Credit Cards

I received an unsolicited credit card in the mail today with my name on it, along with my deceased father’s name (as I am a Jr.). The letter that it was attached to was sent to my address as a Preferred Business, but did not mention my business name. Stated it had a $150,000.00 limit with no activation fee, or annual fee, with 0% or no payments for 90 days. Stated this was a seasonal promotion for preferred customers. Account date was listed as 06/05/17. I was to call 1877-353-0564 or go to www.connectorcapital.com and activate this card. I have at no time spoke or had any correspondence with this company. I have never heard of them until I pulled their name up on Goggle & saw an alert about this company.

We received a credit card with our business name, a unknown person name, and our business address. This was not a credit card offer but an actual credit card with a phone number to call to activate the card. The credit card had an available credit limit of $500,000, and shows a member since 4/17, valid through 6/17. The only number listed on the card is a number to activate the card. The first red flag was the card had an unknown persons name on the card with our business name. Then we noticed the valid for time period and decided to look the company up before calling the number on the card. Once we looked the company up we saw several articles about the fake credit card. If someone other than our business received this card they could have easily charged up this credit card and causing harm to our business……
