This colorbuzz event is a total scam. They get you interested in their event and you pay your money for it, but it never happens. Colorbuzz constantly reschedules the event a couple of days right before it’s supposed to happen without explanation. The organization refuses to respond to emails or give refunds. On the website, ColorBuzz claims to support a charity called "Heart 4 The City" located in Ohio, but when I contacted the charity, they stated that they have never heard of this event nor have ever received any type of funds from them. ColorBuzz is just keeping everyone’s money for themselves without having events.

I was told I would receive an email indicating where we were to pick up our items for this event only to find out from the location this event would be taking place that the EVENT was CANCELLED! They then gave us a number to contact for a refund, the number provided was not "authorized" to do so. We then contacted the location once more , they were able to do a little digging on this event and strongly recommended we call the bank to dispute the charges! Please get the word out COLOR BUZZ IS A SCAM!!!!!!!! do not waste your time, you will not get your money back!

On June 1, 2016, my wife and I were considering the purchase of registrations for what was supposed to be a 5k "fun run", called the Color BUZZ, to be held at a local minor league baseball stadium, intending to go with members of our Weight Watchers group. The date of said run was to be July 16, 2016. The website for the run claimed that the registration cost promotional discount was to end that evening and that the price would be more than double if we waited until the following day. The website also said that no refunds would be issued under any circumstances and that runs cancelled due to inclement weather would be rescheduled, which are common caveats amongst these runs. We decided that this was all OK and purchased the registrations. Mine was $22.08; my wife’s was a couple of dollars less as I ordered an extra item.

The following day (June 2) I noticed that the promotional discount had not ended and that the new deadline was that night. The day after that, I checked the website again and found that the deadline had been changed again, to that night.

About two weeks before the event was to occur, I received an email from staff at the baseball stadium. They said that this event was not on their calendar and that the event organizers had failed to respond to the staff’s attempts to contact them for multiple weeks. In the time between when I purchased the registrations and when I received this email, I hadn’t been contacted by the event organizers even once.

My wife and I reached out to our bank (the one whose debit card I had used to purchase the registrations) and were able to get our money refunded by them. I do not know if the bank succeeded or even attempted to track down the people we paid.

Indeed today, six months later, this supposed run still has yet to be rescheduled, and the website claims that the promotional discount has still not ended (but that tomorrow the prices go up to normal).

1) The website is clearly designed to manipulate the viewer into buying "now" to avoid paying a higher fee even though the higher fee deadline will never arrive.

2) The people collecting the money claim to be a company called "We Do Reality Inc." (according to the privacy statement on the website). Google searches for information about this company yield absolutely no information.

3) The supposed company has a Twitter handle (@colorbuzz5k) that has not been active since August of 2016. When it was active, the account would respond to concerns with a request to send the concerns in an email. Nobody I know personally who has sent emails to the address given has received a reply.

It should be noted that even though the Twitter account appears abandoned, Consumer Affairs Victoria (of Victoria, Australia) mentioned on their own Twitter account (@consumervic) that a Color BUZZ run scheduled for just this past Saturday was looking like a scam, referencing an article from an Australian news outlet called The Age (article link is http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/melbourne-runners-fear-color-buzz-charity-even… ). The article outlines the same circumstances occurring: no contact from organizers, venue staff claiming that no such event is on their calendar, etc. The article even claims that the Color Buzz website is promising a portion of the proceeds to a local charity that doesn’t exist anywhere in the country.

This organization is still ripping people off left and right, and now internationally. They are preying on people who are just trying to have a good time, by offering the promise of an event similar to many legitimate social gatherings organized by legitimate companies.

I appreciate that the ScamPulse.com is here to collect reports of this nature, but I don’t know if these reports are being used to prompt an investigation since the scam is still going strong.

I purchased these tickets back in June just days before the event. They did not contact me about the event until the day off telling me it was canceled and it would be rescheduled and I asked for my refund because the weather was perfectly fine for the event to take place. They offered me my refund and and now January 9th 2017 I still have not gotten a refund. I saw online they tried to reschedule the date and then again magically changed that date again. They post on Facebook and send emails out after you visit their website and draw you in to purchase tickets to a race they never actually plan to be held. I too got the email stating I would get a refund and it would take some time due to the high demand for refunds. However they never actually give the refund after they take your money they do not give it back and they never actually have an event for which you purchase the tickets.

The Color Buzz advertises unusually low priced 5k "fun runs" and was sold through Groupon. They collect fees from consumers and then randomly cancels the events. They said the event would be rescheduled, though it has not. Consumers are unable to contact the organizer and unable to obtain refunds.

This company claims to hold events at particular locations, then on the day of the event they state they have moved locations, and then they never show up. They state on their site no refunds under any circumstances. They pretend to hold an event, take your money, then refuse to refund you when they do not show up. They were set to hold an event July 16 in Lakewood, NJ and the arena confirmed they have had no contact with color buzz and no event is scheduled with them on this day.
