Type of a scam Online Purchase
Background 1)My bank who collected their info after informing me of potential fraud, calling to alert me and ask if I authorized a charge with a vendor listed under a diff name. They mentioned they were located in China from how they tried to bill.
After my discussion my bank encouraged Iclose my account bc they stopped the activity but they still had access to my account info and personal info to do what they may choose.
Thus I had to close the card associated with the frozen/cancelled/ and or ongoing attempted to be pending transactions.
Who Ive notified:
1) bank
2) Cole haan who I called earlier to inquire upon the legitimacy of this seemingly "sister site" I had attempted to make a purchase on.
3) I also sent Cole haan the link to the site this evening. This was to inform them that other consumers looking for discounts might get sucked into a seemingly non credible situation subjecting them to fraud while the site claims to be the same Cole haan from how I read it.
4)Amex: to report the ongoing pending transactions that still showed up on their site after closing my debit card. I called Amex inquiring on whether my input of my Amex info that I couldn’t be sure was indeed captured on their site) if so had there been any activity.
My reporting of this event:
Your the first agency I wanted to inform pertaining this concern.
I can’t be 100% sure whether or not they are a legit business if I’m wrong it’s with the assumption that I have every reason to believe that they are not is why I contact you.
I can safely say that they are seemingly more likely to be fraudulent then not, as it’s harder to verify anything to offer any assurance to indicate otherwise.
Further, if legit it’s still concerning that their misrepresentations acting as a company who confirmed they instead have no knowledge of them, is very suspicious. They have continued to attempt to pull money from me as the pic indicates even after my accounts closure at my bank.. please see attached.
