This person called asking for the previous name I used. After I confirmed my first name. Then said they need to serve me with court papers for a civil lawsuit against me. Civil case # CV339072. Lies! all Lies! I know if someone wants to sue me they should have my address I have been living in same house for 10 years. Well this caller has no info only my phone number and previous numbers used and my previous name used. They know the amount of past debt due to collections and are trying to collect over phone or else will send process server to you to serve you with lawsuit papers for civil case. Fake case number as well. Do not fall for this scam. I have all my credit in order. I owe no one money. I paid all my debt 10 years ago when I purchased my home. So I Knew right away this was a lie and a scam! Please tell others to be aware, check your credit stay on top of it and save all receipts from debts you have paid. There should be no reason to prove you paid debt over the phone to a collection agency if it was paid directly to creditor years ago! Just be smart and keep up with your credit so you know when someone is trying to scam you.
