Type of a scam Online Purchase
I purchased a puppy for $650.00 and shipping was $150. witch included crate and all shots and vet paperwork for shipping for a total of $800.00. I paid them through Western Union on 9/7/2020. They told me that the Pet shipper would contact us with the shipping details, The next day the shipper contacted me with a e-mail saying that they needed another $2000. for a rental of a special crate because of the . Covid and this was refundable upon delivery of the puppy witch we paid. Then later that day the shipper sent another e-mail that they needed another $2500.00 for paper work to show the puppy had all its shots witch was refundable upon delivery. Then they told us that the puppy would be with us that day. We called the shipper that night around 8:00 and they told us that the puppy would be in at the airport around 9:00 P.M. and that they would deliver the next morning around 7:45 AM . That didn’t happen then they sent another e-mail saying that they needed another $2300.00 for insurance for the puppy that the puppy was in MD. at the US animal welfare Quarantine Dept. MD. I did not pay the $2300.00 but I already had paid $800.00 to the seller and $4500.00 to the shipper. I called the seller and he said that the puppy needed the insurance papers. So I tried calling Different places in MD. I called the airport Police at the airport in MD.and they told me that there was no such place as the US animal welfare Quarantine dept.MD. They told me that it sounded like a scam. I also called the shipper and asked what airport the puppy was at and what airline it flew in and he wouldn’t tell me and ended up hanging up on me. Then they said I would be responsible if I didn’t pay the extra $2300.00. I contacted the MD. State police and they told me that there wasn’t the Quarantine place either and that it sound like a scam. I have reported this to the Federal Trade Commission and they also told me to report this to my local Police Dept. in Attleboro mass. witch I did. Tried calling both the seller and the shipper and they would not answer. The. name of the Shipping company is Pro Pet Shipping and the number is 850-632-4928. I have paid both of these places by Western Union.
