Chief’s Discount Jewelers

So thankful for this post! I just recieved this txt as soon as I saw it I figured out it was a scam. Due to the fact that I have had many scammers try to get over on me. I actually have footage of the person putting the check in my mail box. Not even 2minutes after I received a call from a guy giving me instructions on how to purchase gift cards and send the info to him regarding the cards when I made him aware that I knew he was trying to scam me he threatened me . Anyway that incident caused me to investigate every person who reaches out to me regarding employment. Thanks for your help and God Bless

I got a similar text from this person today. He said he had seen my resume on Indeed.com & asked if I had administrative assistant experience. I found it odd for several reasons: the grammar/punctuation was poor for a business text and the only company I could find called Chief’s Discount Jewelers was in Rhode Island (I live in Texas). Then I found this! I’m very glad I’m cautious!

A man calling himself “David Manzi” contacted me via text about my Admin Asst resume on career builder promising $20/hour for handling emails and customer orders/customer service. He insisted on using Telegram to communicate, although he did give me his phone number. I worked very hard creating a logo for his “brand”, and began setting up social media accounts for him. Then out of the blue I get my paycheck (should be about $500) and it’s for $4,500! And-surprise surprise – he wants me to send his customer $4000 for gold he sold to my “boss.” It even came with a slip of paper explaining a car wrap advertising scam, which his [censored] partner accidentally sent to me! 🤣 They got their scams mixed up. The check was an actual account, but it was a personal account with a different person’s name, which did not have nearly funds to cash the check. Oh…and it wasn’t signed! 🤣Beware, because he was very convincing till the end.
