Chic NYC

Kristin – Dec 09, 2020

llegitimate and unprofessional. I wish I researched the company and reviews *more thoroughly* beforehand which I is riddled with *just enough* positive reviews – they are sophisticated scammers. I ordered back in July 23 2020 when I got their initial email to collaborate with them for discounts. Its December 2 and they not only have not shipped one of my items but they have not replied to my follow up emails . They replied twice back in September but there was NO follow-through whatsoever regarding my fitness suit -just empty promises that they will provide me a coupon code and that they apologize due to covid. I sent 9 emails total. Their phone line also doesnt work and apparently they dont have a real location according to Yelp. They also never reply on the main site. I got one of the products I ordered (white tshirt cross) in mid September but even when I log into the main site of Chic Nyc, it clearly shows one of the items hasnt shipped. Total transaction was $119.93 usd. I’m not concerned about getting money back but WHY are they still operating?! Please look into this and the cases that have both been reported and unreported.

It is an attempt to sell infulencer placement. There isn’t a fashion show where your small business products will be shown. Copy of the email text sent to my business email:

I was contacted June 20th of this year by Katrina for Chic Nyc. She asked me if I was interested in becoming an ambassador for their fashion line Chic NYC and made multiple attempts to reach out to me. I responded back letting her know that I would respond to her by the end of the week with my decision. I decided to join the program and made my first purchase for an ambassador tee and a jacket that totaled to 103.86 (this is the final price with the ambassador discount they provide). I recieve my notification fairly quickly that my products are shipped and headed my way. Upon arrival of my package, I come to see only the shirt, but no jacket so I took to the email ([email protected]) and let them know that I haven’t recieved my jacket in the mail. Their response was they have less people working due to the pandemic, covid-19, which is an understandle response. I replied with appreciation and went about my week and made 2 more orders for 4 shirts in total. Fast forward to now and no follow up response whatsoever about anything else I ordered by this company. I requested a refund for my jacket at the least but their policy states no refunds are given by purchases, yet they couldn’t update me on what’s going on? To me it isn’t fair that I spent money and they lack the basic communication skills to update me on my purchases so know I want a full refund for everything I purchased and would warn and steer everyone from a company who takes money and leaves no responses for anyone that contacts them.

This scam business is reaching out people to ask to be their ambassador. You make an order as ambassador for them. After that they disappear. You won’t see your money and you order. They keep looking for new people and emailing the same email. Please be careful! Read Google and Yelp review before you start working with them, or before you order clothes. Lots of reviews from different people are the same. You won’t see your money back. And you won’t see your order!!! The situation with me happened a year ago. And I still don’t see my order or money back.

Ruben – May 12, 2020

They sure as hell got me with the foolery before I new there was a such thing. I saw all the clothes they were so nice then saw that discount after I applied the coupon and thought why not this price is amazing, but my mistake is my scam light bulb didn’t come until the next day after I ordered I thought who would actually where this and why is it’s not popular then I looked at the reviews and realized it was a scam after I bought a $40 shirt on April 6th 2020 and I still have not received it. It’s now May 12th 2020 only thing I got was a printed shipping label that never shipped.

This company is a complete scam. They will email influencers promising them a "Royal Ambassadorship with their fashion label, Chic NYC Runway". They claim to be filling 2020 NYFW ambassadorship roles. To begin with, at the time of these emails, NYFW 2020 has passed. Secondly, they make you pay for a spot on their ambassador list, then take the money and run.

They are also into the act of harassment. I receive no less than 2-3 emails PER DAY from them, always from a different contact and different email address, but with the same exact copy in the email body. I have asked numerous times to be removed from the list. I have flagged all as spam, but because they have so many email addresses, they still get through.

Taylor – Apr 21, 2020

Hi. I experienced the same thing. They told me that they saw my INSTAGRAM account and wanted to work with me. But I have to pay for my slot? No way. Did not message back. Not worth my precious time.

This brand has been attempting to scam influencers and bloggers online for many years. I personally have not fallen victim because I have heard that they are a scam, but no one seems to be reporting them as a scam officially. I’ve seen many social media posts on this brand as a scam, and they’ve been in business since 2015. They have changed their name over the years and frequently send out emails to social media content creators and bloggers to join their ambassador program. They offer influencers a discount, but then never actually send the product. Their images are photoshopped on their site to include press releases and fliers that have never existed, their address appears to be fraudulent (it links to the building adjacent to the Empire State Building). I’ll attach evidence of another Facebook user, who unknowingly worked at this scam and had testimony of the owners changing their name over the year. This is consistent with the owner’s Facebook page, whereas she has added pictures over the year as her header image that align with the scam company’s name change. They also send out MANY, many emails to "recruit ambassadors" and change up the email so that people won’t persecute them. The most recent two emails I received from them started off with "APPROVED," implying I had applied with them when I have not. On February 10, 2020, I received two emails from this company, one from [email protected] and another from "Madeline" with the email [email protected] Their return policy also claims that all sales are final sales because pieces are customized, when pieces are not customized (if they exist at all).

Many posts have been made about Chic NYC in the Facebook groups "Instagram Influencers" and "RewardStyle Bloggers."

Here is their site: https://www.chicnycrunway.com/

Here is a link to the owner’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/britsyourgirl?hc_location=ufi

I will attach a screenshot of what I received and the testimony from their former employee.

I have received numerous emails from the company asking me to join their program and I get those emails constantly and every single time I get the emails, they are a different person each time with the same emails over and over again. I want them to stop emailing me and to stop luring people to believe that they will give them an opportunity and not hear anything from them.

Hello I recently purchased an item from Chic NYC they wanted me to be their Brand Ambassador however they gave me a pair of broken sunglasses and the guy told me to fix them myself. I loved the sunglasses so I said I wanted a new pair if I fixed them myself they would break before that they faked emails to me saying they sent my order but never did I had to call multiple times. They ignored my emails. The lady said she would send me a complimentary order of sunglasses for a new pair and I said ok however I received an email saying that order was cancelled. I called them and they said they cancelled the order I said but the lady said she would send me a new pair you sent me broken glasses I paid for and you never answer my emails you guys ignore them so I feel scammed. There’s also many groups of girls on Instagram who have reported Nora and Chic taking their money and them not getting their product as well. They told me I will be getting the new glasses however I still never received shipping confirmation. I emailed them again and the lady said I did after I got off the phone with them, however I did not so that was a lie. She told me to email shipping and they have ignored my emails two times again. Which is ridiculoys. This really needs to stop cause many girls and many guys are being affrected by their company and they say they represent New York Fashion Week. Also to answer the questions below it’s me and so many other girls I know being victimized.
