A consumer received a call today from CFS Legal claiming that a internet loan was taken out in 2011 and was in default, and if the consumer did not pay $430.00 via debit, money gram, or green dot card further legal action would be taken. And the debt amount would increase to $1900.00. The caller had the consumer’s old address, last four of his social security number, and old bank information. They even went so far a to contact a relative as well. The consumer was called from the following numbers: 855-338-4593(per white pages an alert for scam/fraud/flagged as extortion) & 855-339-4729.
