Type of a scam Employment

I was referred by someone on LinkedIn for assistance with resume writing, LinkedIn improvements, networking, and recruitment. As my husband and I had recently been laid off, I felt they took advantage of a vulnerable situation. After seeing their presentation, we (my husband and I) decided we could utilize their services for neither of us had ever been laid off before. We wired them $2200 and didn’t hear anything for three weeks. When we reached out to them to ask for status, we received no response. I reached back out to the person on LinkedIn who had referred me and she immediately came to their defense and made excuses for them. It was obvious she was close to them due to the excuses she used, ie Lisa’s mother had passed away.

When Kelly finally responded, he had different excuses and there was no mention of the passing of Lisa’s mother. We asked to utilize the 30 day, no questions asked money back guarantee and we didn’t hear anything back. My husband wrote again requesting our money back and Kelly then offered to extend the money back guarantee to 60 days. Due to the lack of response prior and quickly coming up on 30 days and receiving nothing that had been promised, my husband stated that we did not want to continue and that we would like our money back. We have heard nothing since that day. We have filed a police report at our local police department and filed a complaint on LinkedIn.
