Type of a scam Debt Collections
Letter stating that our account ending in_ _ _ _ has a balance of $70.92 with $27 being past due. We do not have an account with Capital One ending in the numbers stated. It further goes on to state that unless we notify Capital One in 30 days after receiving to dispute the claim that they will assume the debt is valid. They provide an address and phone number in the letter. I called customer service # on our present Capital One card and they advised I fill out this form. They also advised that we are not behind in our payments. I checked back on several past Capital one cards that expired with regards to numbers and we do not have any ending in the 4 digits they mention.
