Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I have a brooch(jewelry) listed on Craigslist. The first text said they were interested in the antique I had listed but I never used the word antique in my ad. My naive husband responded without my knowledge & I saw the messages the next day. They said they were out of town(moving actually) & if we gave them our name/ address they would send a cashiers check to pay for the item(which is only $20) & their movers would come by to pick up the item. Today(2-25-17),we received a priority mail envelope with a check inside for $1950.79. They have been messaging asking if I got it cashed. I told them HPD has it for them.
