Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Bryan Anthony contacted my business via email requesting contracting services for a residence. Bryan informed that he was "recuperating from the diagnosis of lung cancer and I will undergo surgery in a couple of weeks" was curently hospitalized and can only be reached via email/text. I knew it was a scam once the individual asked if he could pay an amount exeeding the cost of the project and I send the difference back to him at an alternate address. we never fot as far as discussin prive or payment method. I reported the encounter to ScamPulse.com and confirmed that this is an overpayment scam. ( once I send the difference to the scammer, I would soon learn that the funds sent to me were fraudulent/flagged/returned). I also confirmed that the residence the individual was requesting the estimate for is owned by an individual who had no knowledge of the request for home improvement work.

I knew it was a scam once the individual asked that he be able to send a check for an amount exeeding the cost project and I send a check back to him at another address, for the difference. He claimed that he is only able to write checks for a specific amount. I reported the encounter to ScamPulse.com and confirmed that this is an overpayment scam. ( once I send a check to the scammer, I would soon learn that the check sent to me was a fake). I also confirmed that the residence the individual was requesting the estimate for is owned by an individual who had no knowledge of the request for home improvement work.
