My printer scanner wasn’t connected to my laptop so I called brother technical support team to help me resolve the issue. Initially I called the 877-688-1027 number. A male technician with the Indian accent, quite difficult to understand when he spoke over the phone. He accessed into my laptop screen and started scanning and searching. He tried to convince that my wireless network has been infected and that I needed to get that fixed before he could resolve my issues with the printer. He hung up the phone and called me from another number 415-723-4915. He installed an anti virus protection program and offered to fixe my laptop for a price. I told him I just want him to help me connect my printer to my laptop so my scanner could operate again. He kept on talking nonsense and threatened that my network is infected and he couldn’t help me fix my printer. After a while I got tired of this guy giving me the runs around so I told him I don’t want his service. Then he hung up the phone.
Right after he hung up the phone I was afraid that he gotten access through my laptop and all my account and password information, I then removed the program he had just installed in my laptop. I also removed the Brother app and tools app. I found the original disk from Brother when I purchased my printer and reinstalled the program. I followed the network set up and my printer was able to connect to my laptop again. My wireless network was secure and wasn’t infected. This man tried to scam me. Good thing I didn’t give him my credit card info.
