Type of a scam Rental

This person tried to scam me into sending them money for a room in an apartment. They likely got my information from one of the couple of roommate finder apps that I have been using lately to find a place to live. The original form of contact was via text message. They also sent me emails asking for personal information (including my address, which I did not provide) and photos of the supposed property. The photos were obviously stock photos, likely taken and saved from the property’s actual website. They used a real address for a real building. I got them to send me their "rental contract" to see what it would look like. There were spelling and punctuation errors abound despite them saying that it was written by a lawyer. They tried to get me to give them my address so they could send me a key since they were "out of town" and wanted me to send $600 via MoneyGram in order to secure my room.

I never, ever give out my address or deeper personal information when a potential landlord asks unless I have seen the property, talked to them in person, and have seen their actual credentials. I also never send money before I have decided that I want to actual live there after I have viewed the property in person etc.
