Bridge & Stitch is a company located in Nottingham, UK. There was a paid internship to work remotely from home posted on LinkedIn & Internships.com. I applied & the hiring manager Troy Coleman & Harry contacted me through email & text for an interview. Interview was conducted through text messages only. They tole me that the company is expanding into US & hence hiring part time employees. They told me in order for me to start working I would need to go through 4 weeks of online training. Before the training they wanted me to get some office supply that would be customized with company logo/name & my name. They sent me a cheque by post & wanted me to deposit cash into the vendors account who would then supply office supply like laptop, sewing machine, all in one printer & other items like sketchbooks, notepads, pins etc. They would send texts at odd hours to follow up & the vendor’s account details kept changing. I got suspicious since they wouldn’t even send me an offer letter until I had all the office supplies. I contacted the company in UK about their plans to set-up an office in NY & the company responded back saying it was a scam & they have no such plans & they do not know the hiring managers I have been texting & emailing! I have reported about this scam to internship.com & to the original company in UK.
