I was contacted by "Brad Michael" through the contact section of MeetMeOnboard.com on 03/18/17. I have a profile posted to find travel buddies on that web site. I replied directly to the Gmail address he gave me. We exchanged communication via email a couple of times until I became suspicious. He told me he owned his own business in Sacramento. I decided to check out his business through the ScamPulse.com in Sacramento and was shocked to find the Alert about cat fishing. I believe he was priming me to commit some type of fraud. He kept making romantic overtures even though I told him I was not available nor interested and was only looking for a travel companion for an upcoming cruise. I have cut off contact with him. Luckily, I did not give him my phone number or address.
He described himself as 48 years old. Born in Sacramento, but raised in Russia.

Type of a scam Romance
Uses OurTime to hook older guys and sets up what seems like a romantic scenario where he wants to meet you and spend the "rest of his life with you". About four days between emails, texts, and phone calls he asks for money (in my case $8000) to finance an import of laptops from Japan. He attaches a forged Bill of Latting that one can clearly tell has been photoshopped and tells you he doesn’t want to cry on the phone if you can support him.
He sent me an email asking for money. This is an excerpt from it:
"I have just 2 days to pay the money the custom duty so my goods can be released and shipped to my warehouse here in Sacramento or i will be charged alot of money for late payment,I just don’t know what I’m going to do right now and the Commodity Team Specialist are not helping matters.I’m suppose to pay $65000 for the custom duty, I’ve just got $45,000 sent to my agent after taking out everything left in my account,asking for help from people(don’t have much friends) and Loans organizations which could only loan me some money as well but the Commodity Team Specialist will not release the goods until the fee for the custom duty is completed, Right now i am still short of $20,000 payment before the duty fee. I am really worried because i do not want anything to go wrong as i invested my life savings on this goods, the total worth of $1,500.000.00 was invested on this, My best friend was able to help me raise $9000 few minutes ago.Then I spoke to another friend as well who also assisted me with $3000 .I will still need about $8000 more to complete the money and I don’t know what else to do right now as i been trying to raise the rest $8000 but have not been able to."
Since just yesterday, the website, phone numbers, address and email contact information has changed.
