Type of a scam Employment
While applying for employment, I was contacted by a person named "Eric Scott" who requested my email address. I gave him a newly created email address and he contacted me via Hangouts. After a very lengthy (almost 2 hour) conversation about a job offer, he emailed a check to me to deposit via Mobile App into my bank with instructions to go immediately to Walmart to purchase equipment for this job opportunity. I did deposit the check, just to see if it would be accepted and it was, and immediately available. I noticed that the bank it was drawn from was a locally owned bank, but the headquarters of the company was Chicago, IL. I called the bank, gave them the account number and they quickly informed me that the account had been closed. I contacted my bank to let them know of the situation. I then confronted the sender, "Mr. Scott" about my suspicions. He has not replied to me and will no longer answer my questions.
