There was an ad, advertising Birkenstock shoes on sale. Me, being naive, thought to take advantage of the sell and went to a very authentic looking website, I then purchased my sandals. I received an email with a confirmation. It’s been a few days and I wanted to check how long it was going to take for the product to get to my house. I went back to the website, and saw that it was no longer viable.

This site (www.birkenstocksansalssale.com) claims to sell birkenstocks for remarkably low prices of half off or more (aka too good to be true). When you go to check out, your card gets automatically rejected (even though its good) and then customer services tries to get you to pay via a wire-transfer instead offering an incentive of an additional 15% discount if you do. Very fishy. I cancelled my credit card immediately after this exchange just to be safe. Email correspondence was from "Lisa" and in broken English. I googled her email, [email protected], and found several listing of suspected fraud with the same email ending "@discounts-agents.com" but with different agent names.
