Scammer calls victim posing as a Best Buy Geek Squad employee telling the victim they need the IP address of victims computer. Scammers will try and convince victim they need to get multiple gift cards but in increments and to go to different checkouts or stores. What is not told to the victim is that this is really because retail employees that sell the gift cards are trained and will warn the victim of scam. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL YOU EVER NEED TO PURCHASE A GIFT CARD TO ANY LEGITIMATE COMPANY OVER THE PHONE AS PAYMENT. If you are unsure and worried then ask for their phone number and call them back. DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE TO ANYONE CALLING YOU EVER. They can and will take thousands of dollars that you gave them willingly because of being deceived and because you gave it away you can not get reimbursed.
