I have used Beenverified for years and have been sort of satisfied until this week. I recd an email from them that per my request my account has been cancelled and the unused money $24.13 left on the account would be refunded to a credit card I do not have. I immediately emailed back and told them I did not request my account to be

cancelled and that this was some kind of fraud. I recd an email back from them:

Your BeenVerified account has been suspended because we detected either suspicious activity, activity that fell outside our Terms of Service, or received an alert from your financial institution.

BeenVerified suspended the account for your protection; recent charges (if any) have been returned to your credit card. If you feel this action was in error, please contact us by replying to this email.

At this point I called them at their toll free number and spoke with a women (very hard to understand) she stated someone "called" and cancelled my account. The email stated they suspended it because of some suspicious activity. Now I really don’t know what happened to get this cancelled. I told her the card they were refunding was not a card I recognized and she was helping someone to commit fraud. She told me it was the card I paid with.

Now I’m frustrated from her not trying to help me and just wanted to be done with me on the phone. After not getting any satisfaction from her I just got off the phone before I said something I shouldn’t.

I will never use this service again and do not recommend anyone else use it especially after the other bad reviews I’ve seen here.

The company allows you to call in and cancel the scheming way of making you join a 3 month membership of about $40. When you do cancel if you login to your account they seem to automatically view that as renewing your membership. No reminders are sent you have this membership. Total $182.88 was charged at $22 and some change monthly. Despite the fact I never ever longed in since day 1 the only remediation offered was two month refund. See if that actually happens. According to the rep I spoke to this is common. No manager would have anything further to offer.

I thought I would be able to receive more information about individuals as reported via Beenverified however it offers very basic info unless you keep paying by higher pricing. I called to cancel my " membership" as it stated in their statement about cancelling anytime. But I was given the run around. I was told I would only be charged to 1 time fee of $14.99. Not $28.99 I found that in my bank statement this month I have been charged again. This is not what was agreed soon nor was my account closed.

In short, fraudulent statements made by the company, fraudulent charges, unauthorized charges, and very poor customer service.

They stated that the background check was free. I typed in all my info, then they ask for my credit card info. I couldn’t get the results unless, I gave them the numbers. It didn’t state that before I started.
