Total money lost $300

Type of a scam Online Purchase

My father and I went on this site "https://beaglepuppiesparadise.com/" and were looking to purchase a puppy beagle. As I started emailing them ([email protected]) it seemed okay and possibly legit. They said they needed to get rid of the litter that they had because their beagle got pregnant again and they needed to make room for puppies coming in July. On their site it had also talked about shipping the dogs. I had told the person that I was willing to drive over to pick up the puppy. For in-person pick ups it was a total of $600 and that they needed a $300 deposit to hold the dog till we got there. I sent it to them through ZELLE with this email ([email protected]) to him. We had narrowed it down to me coming to pick up the dog this coming Friday (6-18) and would meet them at 11 am. This morning (6/18) I got an email from them saying that the dog needed to have insurance and requested to send them another $700. I told them I didn’t want puppy insurance and they then offered a lower one for only $500. I told them again that I didn’t want it and I asked if it was mandatory for us in order to get the dog. They said yes and then I requested them to refund my money. They replied saying it would take 30 days. My father then went to look up reviews outside of the site and we found out it was a scam. I went to my bank online to try and request the money back through ZELLE and it said that his email has been unregistered with ZELLE. So, I was unable to request it back and haven’t heard back from him.
