Received a text from an unknown source with a phone number +18444139927. The text read: "Opps, your scheduled payment failed. Please call us at 888-588-0246 to schedule a make-up payment. For info, reply HELP." This occurred at 8:59 am and within 5 minutes, I received a class from +18775881999 where the agent immediately asked for my name, last 4 digits of my Social Security Number and Date of Birth. She would not answer any of my questions only that she was from Amplify Funding. I said that if she had my name, she must have my account up and she would then legally have to tell me what type of account and my account number was since I had answered her call and verified that she did have the person she was asking for. She said she could not reveal any information until I provided the information she had requested. We went round and round without any resolve. I then looked up Amplify Funding, found an address in Wisconsin and that they were a ‘paycheck loan" company. Looking at the address on Google Maps, it shows an empty strip mall. Additionally, according to the BBB, there was not an organization registered by that name. Since I do have a friend who runs a paycheck loan company in my town, he said that if they were not registered with ScamPulse.com then it is highly likely it is a scam. Since I have never lived in Wisconsin I thought this was a phishing scam. I called the number from the text and again the agent asked for all of my information which I would not provide. I informed her that I was calling the number that they had provided in the text so I had to be who I said I was and that legally, until they formally explained what the call and text was referring to, I did not have to answer any questions providing that information. When I informed her that I could report her to the authorities, she said to go ahead and copy them on the police report. I am also filing a complaint with the ScamPulse.com as I do not live in Wisconsin where they operate and have never filled out any information so they had to have illegally obtained my information.

Kept calling to tell us my husbands online loan application was approved. He doesn’t use a computer. He hasn’t applied for a loan online. Asked be removed from the call list but had to be transferred to a supervisor. Called 6 times in a day or two. Isn’t this a violation of the do not call list?
