I was looking online for a place to purchase a pug for my sons birthday. I saw the website was AKC also known as the American Kernel Club which is a known website. I emailed them to ask if I can purchase the pug and what are the steps and why are they selling it for $400. They stated that they just want to find the puppy a good and loving home. They also stated that there will be a $160 charge for flight arrangements. I figured it was reasonable. Once I agreed to send payment they sent pictures of the pug I chose and it just made my heart melt and want to purchase it before someone else does. They then told me that they only accept Zelle payments. It still didn’t occur to me that this may possibly be a scam as I was blinded by the puppy. I made the payment and asked for the paperwork to be sent to me along with the tracking to pick up the puppy. They then sent me an email stating that I need to pay a refundable $700 for a crate to get him on the plane. That when I realized something is not right. I refused to make that payment and they tried to make me feel guilty that the puppy is at a travel agency but I still refused to make that payment and requested a refund. It has been almost a week. I tried to get back in contact with them without success and I just realized that shipping should be free. I would not want this happening to anyone else.

I sent a request email for more information for a black pug puppy named Deddie. Owen responded back with a email template saying he is in the military and his wife works in social services so they are not full time breeders which is why they sell the dogs for cheep. The email also said they are expecting more puppies in 18 months (but they aren’t breeders???). I asked Owen for his number to discuss, but he never gave it just sent another email with the information he would need to ship the puppy to me. Very sketchy. I wouldn’t recommend buying anything from this website.
