I needed help updating my Kindle Fire. I contacted what I thought was Amazon’s customer service but turned out to be AGA Tech Experts, Inc..

AGA representative told me that I had been hacked and that they needed to connect to my Kindle. I allowed them to connect, again thinking it was Amazon. The AGA representative then said all of my equipment had been hacked and I needed to connect my Kindle to my laptop, which I did. When the representative told me to send a check for $299.99, I got suspicious and ended the call. They have called my home and cell phone repeatedly since then but block the caller id information and do not leave a message. I had all of the my equipment cleaned by Best Buy and changed out all of my credit cards and passwords. They left a dummy invoice for $299.95 on my desktop. Amazon said they are in no way affiliated with AGA Tech Experts LLC and had me send the information to their fraud department. Amazon suggested I make this report to alert others.
