I received a voicemail from the number 251-216-3890. The woman stated she was with Legal Locator services and that I was an alternate point of contact for someone. She used my first and last name as well as his. She said it is very important that he was to call them back because they have some legal documents to serve him with from a complaint made in their office. He needed to call back to a second number, 866-219-3124 and put a statement on file or they would proceed with the complaint. A friend of mine works in a law firm and told me do not call them back, that is not how people are served with complaints, there is something wrong with that. I work for my local police department so I passed the information on to my corporal. He called back the first number and a different girl answered the phone "AFS". He stated he had a complainant concerned of identity theft and that I received a call from Legal Locator Services. The woman said she had never heard of that and was confused and that she needed the name and case number. He told her he was not at liberty to reveal that information. But apparently she could only clear up the multiple business names if she had that. He asked if they were located in Mobile, and she said they aren’t in Alabama at all. He said he called her at a 251 number, and she said that’s not their number, their number is 866. And couldn’t understand how we reached her at the original number. He asked what AFS stood for and she said it doesn’t stand for anything, its just the company name. He asked for their company address. She sarcastically replied with that she wasn’t at liberty to give that information either. Said they don’t give their business address for the safety of their employees. She would only give her last name, refused to give her first name and said she would pass the information along to her boss and they would have their attorney contact us back… but only if we gave the name and case number.

After hanging up, we called back again stating we were the person they were trying to contact. This time it was a 3rd girl and she asked for the name and case number and when we gave it to them, they wanted the last 4 of the SSN. He said he was told to never give his SSN over the phone. The woman asked rudely, "Who told you that!?" He said the police did. She said, "FINE! Since the POLICE told you not to give your SSN out, we are just going to go ahead and proceed with this complaint!!" and hung up the phone.
