I received a phone call early March 2nd from a person claiming to work for Ada County Sheriff. The person was from a different country and was difficult to understand. He indicated he was calling because a complaint had been filed with the sheriff’s office regarding taxes owed.
I hung up the phone, the person called back immediately, and I hung up again. The person then sent me a text message indicating that I had hung up on him and that a sheriff was dispatched to my home address to discuss the charges pending.
I called Ada County Sheriff and they indicated that a scam was currently going around S. Idaho. I just wanted to alert your staff to this incident.
